An exciting exhibition which brings together the juxtaposed mediums of silk and steel: The beauty and exquisite gowns opposed with the harshness and creativity of metal sculpture. These works provoke and inform the viewer of their own life experiences, personal beliefs and values.
This prize has been run biennially since 1972 and is one of the most valuable regional art prizes in Australia with $50,000 in prizes. Entries are open to artists across Australia. Any medium of artwork may be entered except those requiring visual display screens or other powered technologies. The theme is open. Shortlisted works will be on exhibition from Friday 5 June - Wednesday 29 July. All works will be available for purchase.
