2018 Significant 3D Award Winner Artefacts by Joanna Bone

What made you decide to enter the Stanthorpe Art Prize in 2018?

I had decided to enter in 2018 as I had entered for the first time in 2016 and was encouraged with the response and coverage that the art prize draws. So decided to enter new work that I thought might showcase my particular skill of glass cold working.

Has winning a prize in the 2018 Stanthorpe Art Prize changed anything in your art life?

I’ve started to think more conceptually about my practice and pieces

Did you gain any exposure from being a winner?

I took part in another exhibition in Stanthorpe along with Aaron Micallef and Renata Buziak.

Where has your work taken you since 2018

Find out more about Jo:

Focused on building a website, went to Japan to work with my glassblower of 12 years.

Do you plan to enter the 2020 Stanthorpe Art Prize?

Yes if time allows.

Would you like to share any of your recent works with our followers?

I created these trophies for this years Asia Pacific Screen Awards. They are a vessel celebrating the film industry in the Asia Pacific region. I get to really explore colour combinations and patterns in the surface.
