The Local Art Prize is a biennial exhibition that displays the depth and breadth of artists across our region.
With $5000 in prizes, we invite any interested local artist to submit their work for this exhibition.
Winners
Conditions
1. Artists must reside in the Southern Downs - or within a 100 km radius of Stanthorpe - and have a valid postal address to confirm this.
2. All work must be your own and completed in the past two years.
3. The cost of entry is $15. This year there is a limit of one artwork per person. Entry fee is to be paid on the delivery of artworks.
4. Size and weight of works: 2D - we cannot accept artworks that are greater in perimeter than 4 metres (frames included) and more than 15kg. 3D works must be less than 15kg.
5. The Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery will endeavour to hang all artworks submitted. However, due to space restrictions, we cannot guarantee that all works will be exhibited. Artworks will be selected at the discretion of the gallery director and no dialogue will be entered into.
6. Sale of artworks: All artworks must be for sale. The gallery charges a 25% commission on sold artworks. If you are unsure about the correct pricing for your artwork please feel free to talk to us before the exhibition.
7. If possible, please send an image of your artwork to artprize@srag.org.au. If you have a website or social media accounts, please send these links along with your images. This helps us promote your work during the exhibition.
8. Submitting artworks: So that we can hang your works correctly, PLEASE ENSURE THAT 2D WORKS ARE FITTED WITH THE CORRECT D RINGS - 100 mm from the top of the frame/work. If you are unsure about what D rings to use please ask us. We cannot accept artworks that are not fit to hang.
9. Labeling of artworks:
2D works - please ensure that the label provided is placed on the back of the work on the bottom left-hand corner.
3D works - ensure that the label provided is safely attached to the bottom of the work.
10. Artworks that arrive damaged will not be exhibited.
11. Copyright: The Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery reserves the right to photograph any work submitted for the purposes of documentation, education, and advertising. Please note that visitors will also be allowed to take photographs during the exhibition period.
12. Entries must be delivered to the gallery on Monday 17 January between 9 am and 1 pm.
13. The exhibition will be held from 20 January - 13 March 2022. Opening night is Friday 21 January at 6 pm and you are welcome to attend.
14. All artworks are covered by the gallery’s insurance during the exhibition dates. Insurance for the transport and delivery to and from the gallery are the artist’s responsibility.
15. All unsold artworks must be collected Monday 14 or Tuesday 15 March between 9 am and 4 pm. It is essential that all works are collected on that date. If you think you may not be able to collect your work on that day, please contact us as soon as possible. All artworks will be returned in the packaging in which they were submitted.
15. Payment for work sold will be made to your nominated bank account within 4 weeks of the ending of the exhibition.
