Camerata Gala

A blockbuster evening!

Get ready for the roof to lift off at this Camerata Gala – a landmark event marking the first time Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra will appear outside Brisbane in its full, expanded 35-piece ensemble. Mozart’s sparkling Marriage of Figaro Overture sets the scene with wit and brilliance, followed by a brand-new work from Camerata’s Emerging Composer-in-Residence, Imogen Ferdinando, inspired by the Queensland shire of Balonne. The evening culminates in Beethoven’s exhilarating Symphony No.7, the work that cemented his status as the world’s greatest living composer. Experience the magic of live orchestral music created right in front of your eyes.

PROGRAM:

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Overture to The Marriage of Figaro, K. 492; Imogen Ferdinando Threnody to the Amoy Shepherds (inspired by the Balonne Shire); Ludwig van Beethoven Symphony No.7 in A major, Op.92
