Pied Currawong (Strepera graculina graculina) & Noisy Miner (Manorina melanocephela)

Conservation status: least concern

Oftentimes, these two species tolerate or ignore each other, but come the breeding season, hormones spark stronger feelings.

Noisy Miners, or Mickeys, cannot help themselves: they’re inveterate gangsters. It may have something to do with the fact that Currawongs have a taste for Miner nestlings!

The Currawong is rarely that bothered.
