Artist in Residence (AiR) Charlotte Haywood

Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery is delighted to welcome interdisciplinary artist Charlotte Haywood for an exciting residency exploring the unique landscapes, ecology and creative spirit of our region.

Working across textiles, contemporary art, sound, film and ecology, Charlotte will draw inspiration from Stanthorpe’s distinctive flora and fauna, granitic soils and the remarkable rock formations of Girraween National Park. Through walking, drawing, sound recording and ecological observation, she will explore the connections between people, place and the natural world.

During her residency, Charlotte will develop ideas and prototypes for a new body of work, investigating themes of environmental interdependence, care and coexistence. She also hopes to connect with local artists and community members through weekly open studios, conversations and collaborative creative activities, offering opportunities to share ideas and engage with her artistic process.

With an impressive career spanning national and international exhibitions, film and theatre productions, Charlotte brings a wealth of creative experience to the Granite Belt.

Keep an eye on Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery’s website and social media for opportunities to meet Charlotte, learn more about her work and get involved in this exciting creative journey.
