Inspired by QAGOMA’s exhibition Looking Out, Looking In: Exploring the Self-Portrait.
In this fun, hands-on session, we will explore how artists across time and cultures show who they are through self-portraits.
Together, we’ll discover how artists ‘look out’ by capturing their outward appearance, and ‘look in’ by expressing their inner world, their feelings, interests, memories and imagination.
After exploring these ideas, workshop attendees will create their own expressive self-portrait, using colour, detail and symbolic objects to tell their story.
Suitable for children of all ages.
Tickets $5, booking essential
