The idea of making, reclaiming and holding space for oneself, both physically and also emotionally, is a recurrent theme in my work. My works are predominantly done with oils and paints with a sketch-like quality that captures the minutiae of daily life. I am interested in inserting my own lived experience into my paintings, such as through my choice of subject matter.
One common theme across many of my works is a focus on food, places, and the idea of home. My paintings together can be viewed in an almost diaristic manner, which is imbued with the personal narrative and experience of the artist.
