Dogs are more than just dogs, they are a spirit of friendship, trust and loyalty. A photograph recreated in charcoal using smudging techniques and a rubber. Crafted to encourage the viewer to capture the chemistry between master and dog, as if they too were seeing this friendship in that moment.
I am an 18 year-old from Maryborough, Qld. Lessons from a local artist over a 6-year period have guided and sharpened my techniques. Exposure of my work in local competitions has resulted in commissions for pet portraiture. My style is of realism, influenced by the likes of Tom Roberts, using his characteristics of impressionism.
