Visual Diary Workshop with Mieke den Otter

Mieke’s aim is to take you through some ways of finding starting points, discovering open ended pathways to new artworks.  Join us to enjoy a social and playful workshop ‘in situ’ and around the table. 

Workshop Outline: 

  • Introduction about Mieke’s visual art practice starting with early travels, workshop notes, artist-in-residence and  chasing ideas in a diary 

  • A hand out to paste in your A5 diary (diary supplied) 

  • Make thumbnails in a concertina booklet with ‘in situ’ line drawings 

  • With A3 200gr paper/oil pastel/ink you will make a ‘ground’ and fold this into a booklet to add  ∙ text, collage, gesso, ink etc

Artist Bio

Mieke has been a practicing artist working in the visual arts in book illustration, community arts, textiles and her digital  medium tag is… #ephemeralbrush.  

She is an active member of the Spinners Weavers Fibre Artisans of Ipswich and participates in exhibitions, festivals,  markets and workshops. 

The Granite Belt has been a destination for some 13 years where she has exhibited with Borderline Regional Arts  Association and Stanthorpe Art Prize.
