Artists in Conversation: A talk by Liz Powell and Raylee Delaney

  • Stanthorpe Civic Centre 61 Marsh St Stanthorpe, QLD, 4380 Australia (map)

An hour-long talk by two artists from Borderline Regional Arts Association, Liz Powell and Raylee Delaney. Liz and Raylee are contributing artists to Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery’s latest exhibition, ‘Open-Ended’.

In their talk, Raylee and Liz will touch on the history of the Borderline Regional Arts Association and its membership. They will discuss some of the works in the current exhibition, as well as their own art making practices-targeting interaction of techniques, materials and subjects.

They will speak about the growth and evolution of art, exploring both the constancy of art over millenia and divergences from what has traditionally been considered artists’ practices.

Attendees will be invited to consider the sociological, cultural and community relationships art can offer and the ways in which art can break through perceived boundaries and be truly ‘open ended’.

Liz and Raylee will welcome questions from the floor on behalf of Borderline exhibitors. Please RSVP to Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery on (07) 46813991, or rsvp@srag.org.au
