I often like painting everyday objects. This was on a bench at home. I liked the geometry — straights and curves. The painting should reward the viewers further closeup investigation and interest in the hidden colours and lines.
Nick’s work references popular culture, everyday objects and art history. Nick does not attempt to hide the processes of construction. These marks often show the problems solved in the making. Constant throughout is an attention to detail, surface qualities and process.
