Flower Power Boy is an Australian Superhero in the making. Informed by famous Australian icons such as, Ginger Meggs and Blinky Bill, spawned from the genetics of Astro Boy and a common blow-up flower toy. Flower Power Boy's mission is to super size his presence on the global art scene. His message is to pursue the truth, recycle everything and nurture the environment. He has no allegiance to any political party, however, he advocates the mantra ‘keep the bastards honest’.
As a multi media artist, I deploy the strategy known as Bricolage in the development of artworks. I enjoy reinterpreting and reinventing found objects and images collected with an eclectic and quite often serendipitous handmade approach. I make artworks informed by my immediate environment, the Australian Landscape and Pop culture. Colour, texture, spontaneity and a good sense of humour are all very important elements to my work.
