This idea offers a conduit of release from tethers of mature reason into a dreamscape of adventuring children and singsong rhymes, squirrel guides pointing the way back down corridors of the unconscious to a submerged psychic zone of memory and make believe, welcoming visitors with birthday cake, balloons and fireworks.
My practice is based on building imaginary scenes that have a dreamscape quality, collecting and combining photographs into collages, and then using a realistic style to make them feel believable as places that could really exist. They suggest fantastical narratives and other fictional worlds, exploring an atmosphere of the uncanny.
