This leather bound record book provides valuable historical climate data. The simplest items of everyday life were embellished with careful penwork. Maryland Station is north-east of Stanthorpe, on the NSW side of the QLD/NSW border, north east of Stanthorpe.

Maryland Station was a very large (200000 acres) and prosperous station, and the current town of Stanthorpe partially sits on land that was once part of the station. The main street of Stanthorpe, Maryland Street, was named in acknowledgement of the original property.
